Samsung Galaxy devices continue to be getting the Android 5.1 L update, and it has been confirmed that Galaxy S4 will be receiving it. The Galaxy S4 was among the first Google Play Edition devices to get the Android 5.0 L update, but it will be perhaps the last in the list to be receiving the v5.1 update. Other GPE devices have already been updated many weeks ago.

Google may roll out the v5.1 update on the S4 (GPE) almost any day now. It is expected that the search giant isn’t going to announce the release date. The company has already updated several Nexus devices and other GPE models.
The Galaxy S4 (GPE) is an old model. Samsung is already playing it big with Galaxy S6. There are speculations that this could be the last Android update that S4 GPE users could expect. In fact, Google has a tradition of offering Android updates up to a maximum of 24 months.
There are rumors that the latest flagship devices from the Korean company, the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge could also be geared towards an Android v5.1 update. Galaxy Grand Prime is also in the lineup. But there hasn’t been any confirmation yet from the phone maker.
One of the major features in the new Android update is Quick Settings. It gives users access to a variety of features including brightness, WiFi, screen casting, flashlight, BT and much more.

Google has made the feature even more powerful and smoother to use. There’s no longer any need to go through all the settings. It will make things much more convenient for Galaxy users.
Until Samsung confirms this or comes out with a release, we can consider this to be just a speculation doing the rounds in the industry, among experts, fans and bloggers.
