Good news for iPhone 5 users: the battery replacement program extended till 2016

If you are using the iPhone 5 and are bothered with its poor performing battery, then here is a good news for you.

Apple has recently announced an extension of their battery replacement program for iPhone 5. Previously scheduled to end on 1st March’15, now the programme will run up to 2016, announced the tech giant.

While Apple has always been a preferred brand in luxury phone segment, the iPhone 5 has been a huge disappointment in terms of battery performance.

Good news for iPhone 5 users

Thus the company initially rolled out this battery replacement program for this model with initial time period of 2 years from the first retail sale, which was until March 1st 2015.

Recently, the company has notified about this extended period of battery replacement through their official website.

So, to the delight of iPhone 5 users the program is now rescheduled to run till 16th January 2016.

In an announcement, Apple has discussed the cause of this extension as well. According to the spokesperson, the company has seen that a very few numbers of iPhone 5 was sold during the period from September 2012 to January 2013.

Thus this extension of the battery exchange program to cover these dates as well.

The company has always been known for their superior customer service policy.

So, if you have the iPhone 5 and have no intention of switching from it anytime soon, then you can check out at Apple’s official website whether your phone is eligible for the battery replacement or not.

If your handset is eligible for the exchange, then you can simply take your phone to the nearest authorised Apple store and get the battery replaced for absolutely free of cost.

    What good news for me! I have an IPhone 5 and yes, the battery doesn’t last long. But now thanks to you I can check out this battery replacement. I didn’t want to upgrade to the IPhone6 yet because of all the problems they haven’t worked out yet. I’m still waiting for them to fix it up.

    The only problem I have with my phone is the short battery life. Now with this great news, I can check this out.
