Local Search Traffic for Your Business

Google My Business (GMB) has launched several new features in an effort to replicate many of the features commonly found on your business’s website. Because Google launched so many features and some are more important than others, we decided to present you with two features that will drive the most traffic to your business.

Pointer #1: Google Services

We absolutely love Google Services. This was a feature small business owners have been waiting for their entire lives. Google Services allows small business owners to list the full breadth of their products and services right in their GMB listing. Until this feature was launched, business owners were limited to describing their business by choosing three categories from a list of 300 choices. These categories were rather limiting; for example, an injury attorney could only pick “personal injury attorney” or “General practice attorney.” Listing your products and services in Google My Business will give you a huge edge on your competition as most small business owners don’t even know this option exists. Follow the instructions below to begin entering your services today.

Step 1: Make sure you are logged into your GMB account and then click on “Info” and then pick “Services.”

Step 2: Now it’s time to start entering your services. This can be time-consuming if you have a large number of services. Don’t get overwhelmed; simply enter them in one at a time. Time spent entering your services will pay huge dividends, so buckle in with a nice cup of coffee and get to work.

Pointer #2: Google Posts

If you’re already posting blogs regularly to your website, implementing this pointer will take only a little additional time on your part. That’s because Google Posts provides you with the opportunity to post blogs directly to your Google My Business listing. If, for example, you are currently posting one blog per week, simply post two of the four blogs you normally place on your website on your Google My Business listing instead. To make sure you do not experience any technology hurdles, we’ve given you step-by-step instructions below.

Blog Posting Instructions:

  1. Log into your Google My Business account
  2. In your Google My Business listing, look through the left-hand navigation options and select “Post.”.
  3. You can cut and paste a blog you have written into that field. If you are not currently blogging, begin writing your blog now and then publish it.

A Powerful One-Two Punch

We decided to focus on two tips because most business owners are wearing many hats, including their SEO hat. To respect your time, we decided to focus on only the most important tips that will help you funnel more traffic to your Google My Business listing, which in turn will result in more customers for your business.

Go for it

If you don’t have the needed hours to implement this strategy, have your web design  agency do this for you. If they do not have SEO capabilities or use a free web grader, request that they hire a White Label SEO service to handle the SEO work described above.
